Kensington is an at-grade train station on the Blue Line of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) rail system that serves a central part of DeKalb County, Georgia. It has one island platform with 1 track on each side. This station opened on June 26, 1993. Kensington is mainly a Park & Ride train station for commuters who take advantage of the 1,946 parking spaces available on site and ride into Atlanta. Long-term parking is available. This station mainly serves Decatur's unincorporated communities; as well as communities in Stone Mountain-Tucker. Bus service is provided at this station to Dekalb County Sheriffs Headquarters and Jail, The City of Stone Mountain, Georgia Piedmont Technical College (formerly known as Dekalb Technical College), Georgia Department of Labor, GRTA/Panola Park & Ride, Memorial Drive Park & Ride, and Dekalb Lou Walker Senior Center. Transfers to the Emory Cliff Shuttle's Oxford route are also available. Bus Rapid Transit is provided at this station to points along Memorial Drive: * 520 (Limited) - Memorial Drive / N.
